Upholstery Courses by J A Milton
The Lesson and your Project
Soft Furnishing Classes
The lessons will be mixed with demonstrations and hands on work. The intention is that you will leave the lessons with a series of small samples of curtain sections that you will have made yourself.
All the materials and the fabric for the samples will be provided.
Course notes will also be given out during the lessons.
The extent of difficulty and limits to which your samples will take you can vary according to your prior knowledge and individual abilities. Please let us know when booking if you would like a particular application to be included in your lesson.
"It is our intention to make these courses both informative and informal.
It is important to us that you enjoy and learn, and perhaps make new friendships along the way. We look forward to meeting you."
Regards Jeff & June
Upholstery Classes
The lessons are informal consisting of three to four students and start about 9.15am. Finishing around 5.pm . Coffee and tea is also provided.
Please bring your own project to the class, modern or traditional but I would suggest you choose something fairly simple if it is your first project. A straight edged stool or dining chair is a good item for beginners in traditional upholstery.
New chair or stool frames can be provided but we will need notice of this. If I am not already familiar with your project please let me have brief details so that suitable bench space and the correct materials such as foam can be provided.
